This Week Begins Slowly, but Ends with Expansiveness and Joy

Published on April 7, 2019

Your Weekly Astrology Forecast for April 8–14, 2019

The week begins just after the New Moon, symbolizing new beginnings, especially encouraged because the New Moon was in Aries, the zodiac sign symbolizing beginnings. The Sun is exalted in Aries, or at its best. Now is the time for spring cleaning and fresh starts. Solar Aries symbolizes passion, warmth, excitement and zest for adventure.

Mercury still remains in its shadow until April 16. This means that although Mercury is now direct, it still carries some of the effects of Mercury retrograde. Expect to experience some communication and mechanical breakdowns through April 16.

The South Node conjuncts Pluto, a major aspect symbolizing completions, transformations, endings and beginnings. This week Jupiter turns retrograde on Wednesday, April 10 for a five-month backward spin. With Jupiter slowing down and changing direction, its energies are amplified. Jupiter symbolizes expansion, abundance and blessings. When it’s retrograde, the only downside may be exaggeration and excess. It is a good time to turn inward and amplify your spiritual life.

Begin the Week Slowly, then Focus on Communication

Monday the Moon is void of course (VoC) from 1:26 a.m.–2:15 p.m. PDT. Don’t be surprised if you have a slow start Monday morning. Stick to routine tasks until 2:15 p.m. PDT when the Moon moves into Gemini. Then, make phone calls, connect and communicate.

Venus-conjunct-Neptune is Tuesday’s major aspect, giving inspiration to romantic notions. We may be idealistic about love and money. The Gemini Moon squares this Venus-Neptune conjunction, so energies may scatter in different directions. Whatever the issue, communication is a pathway to sorting things out. Curiosity abounds throughout the day.

Wednesday is packed with planetary activity, and the Moon is void of course for a long period of time from 10:27 a.m.–8:31 p.m. PDT. The void Moon period is a time to focus on routine, insignificant tasks. Avoid meetings and activities requiring decisions. Jupiter turns retrograde for a five-month backward spin until August 11. When planets change direction their energy is amplified. Thus, Wednesday is likely to be a jovial, expansive day. A Mercury-Pluto sextile will help us get to the bottom of issues of concern.

The End of the Week Requires Patience and Wisdom

With the Moon in Cancer, Thursday is framed for home and family. Express acts of deep caring and reserve some energy to focus on home. Cook some nourishing food and cozy up with family. Be careful about a tendency to exaggerate or overextend due to a Mercury-Jupiter square aspect.

Planetary activity is strong on Friday, making this week’s end work day anything but relaxing. Morning hours sport a Moon-Saturn opposition, which may result in challenges and limitations, followed by a powerful Moon-Pluto opposition that may bring power struggles. Friday is a complex day, potentially full of challenges and turbulence. Go slow and meet each test with patience and wisdom. Be prepared to surrender if needed. A benefic Venus-Saturn sextile can help us attend to money matters and make improvements. Adding punch to the day, the Sun is making an applying square to powerful Pluto. This is a day to meet the gifts and challenges with full attention and high energy.

End the Challenges of the Week with a Joyful Sunday

Although the Moon is in playful Leo, expect a challenging, power-packed Saturday with a few surprises. This is another day to go slowly and carefully, as the planetary energies are fiery and turbulent. The Sun conjoins Eris, a somewhat belligerent energy. Lean into a big project, get moving and make a difference.

Sunday is truly a Sabbath day. Planetary aspects are joyful and expansive. Create a fun day, kick back and enjoy. You deserve to make the most of this day after a challenging week.
