There is still strong cosmic encouragement to let go of old worn-out systems or structures that no longer serve. Saturn and the South Node are still conjunct and close to Pluto, a powerful and volatile alignment. Go slowly and carefully with this strong energy abounding. The world is susceptible to the intensity of this potent, challenging alignment.

This week begins with a First Quarter Moon that builds to a Full Moon on May 18. This Full Moon is the Wesak Full Moon, with Moon in Scorpio and the Sun in Taurus. For Buddhists, this Full Moon is the holiest day of the year when the Buddha reached enlightenment and died. This Full Moon has to do with death, symbolized by Scorpio, and form, symbolized by Taurus.

The Beginning of the Week is Time to Shine and Create

The work week is off to a strong start Monday with the Taurus Sun making a benefic trine to Pluto in Capricorn. Great progress can be made on financial matters and goals.

Overall, we feel satisfied and energized on Tuesday, thanks to a Venus-Mars sextile. You will want to share the day with others socially, so plan lunch with your colleagues or dinner with friends. Make yourself sparkle with a new purchase of clothing or by creating a new look from a closet creation. This is a day to do things that will make you feel good, look good and shine.

Venus ingresses into Taurus tropically on Wednesday, and Mars ingresses into Cancer. The good energies of the Venus-Mars sextile of yesterday continue to color our day beautiful. A Mercury-Neptune sextile expands our imagination and lifts our spirits. If you are an artist, this is a great day to paint or create in whatever form you like to express yourself. If you are not an artist, at least allow yourself to dream, and allow your imagination to soar. The evening’s energy is emotionally sensitive and edgy due to a Moon-Saturn square.

End the Week with Balanced and Quiet Introspection

On Thursday, the Moon is void of course for a long period from 2:37 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. PDT. Don’t waste your time on meetings or trying to make connections until after the Moon moves into Scorpio at 2:26 p.m. Thursday sports numerous planetary aspects, both benefic and challenging, and thus a lot of activity. A Mercury-Saturn trine helps us stay balanced and organized to work through our day efficiently and with discernment.

We are fully immersed in the deep waters of the Scorpio Moon on Friday. Mercury forms a benefic trine to Pluto, inviting us to get the bottom of matters and do good research. A Moon-Neptune trine lifts our spirits and amplifies the mystery. When the Moon is in Scorpio, we tend to want more private, quiet time. Instead of a social Friday evening, settle into a good deep read, work on a problem you are trying to resolve or review your dream journal and see what new insights you can gain.

The Weekend Brings the Wesak Full Moon and Time for Nature

Saturday sports a Full Moon. Finances and resources are highlighted with this Full Moon. Venus and Uranus are exactly conjunct at 3 degrees of Taurus. Surprising twists and turns in our love lives may occur. Be open to new expressions of love.

Saturday is the Wesak Full Moon, when the Buddha reached enlightenment and died. The Scorpio Moon is in a benefic sextile to Saturn and Pluto and the South Node, forging our attention and responsibility around what truly matters. After a four-hour Moon-void-of-course period in the afternoon, the Moon bounces into optimistic Sagittarius. After a sobering, demanding day, it’s time to party.

Sunday is easy. The Moon is in sunny Sagittarius, and there are no major planetary aspects. Take time out to go for a walk in nature, or plan a trip, or read something philosophical or spiritually inspiring. We are upbeat, no matter what the day brings or how we choose to express it.
