Your Weekly Astrology Forecast for August 6–13, 2017

This week’s big event is the Partial Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on Monday, August 7, at 15:25 Aquarius/Leo. Note where 12–18 degrees of Fixed Signs are in your horoscope (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Virgo); this eclipse may influence that area of your life. The Leo/Aquarius axis is about the individual self (Leo) and the global community (Aquarius). How can you shine your light brighter in the world? Make a donation of time or money to a community project, particularly one that supports children.

Following the Lunar Eclipse this week is the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, August 21, at 28:53 Leo. This eclipse will traverse the United States from Newport, Oregon, through Charleston, South Carolina. Perhaps you have already experienced some of the power of this eclipse, as the effects can show up a few months before or after the actual event. There are a lot of tensions in the world, and the eclipse could trigger some defining events. The next few weeks promise to be eventful. Light comes before darkness, and then light will follow the darkness, both astronomically and metaphorically. Perhaps there are, or will be, endings and opportunities for new beginnings in your own life. Take a leap forward with juicy projects and dreams. Think about courageous, creative commitments that you will make at the Solar Eclipse on August 21.

Mercury turns retrograde on Saturday, August 12, so complete contracts, travel plans and project details early in the week. Soon it will be time to pause and reflect, review and revise.

What the Week Looks Like for the Planets—and You

Friendships are highlighted on Sunday. The Moon is in Aquarius, symbolizing humanitarian concerns. Make a donation to a favorite social cause about which you feel passionate. Take an active step to reach out and help someone.

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is at 11:11 AM PDT on Monday, starting the week with this potent energy. Mars is close to the Sun, adding more fiery heat to this eclipse. We will have greater courage and resolve to make a difference. See the new documentary An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power. You will be fired up to take action.

Tuesday glows in the light of last night’s Full Moon. A sparkling Moon-Uranus sextile at 12:07 PM PDT ushers in a brief Void of Course Moon period until 2:56 PM PDT, when the Moon then drifts into soft and dreamy Pisces. The first half of the day is fiery and bright, and the day finishes sweet and soft.

Compassion, caring and inspiration abound on Wednesday through the Pisces Moon that trines Venus and conjuncts Neptune.

The Moon is Void of Course (i.e., when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically) in Pisces early all day on Thursday, from 6:38 AM to 10:22 PM. This is a day to focus on insignificant routine tasks such as filing and clean-up. Don’t waste your time on meetings or appointments or anything requiring decisions, including shopping.

The Week Ends on an Active Note

Friday is bold, uplifting and visionary. The Aries Moon wants to bolt out of bed early and get going. Mercury conjuncts the asteroid Vesta, the hard-working goddess of the hearth; this combo focuses the mind on practical solutions. A Ceres-Venus conjunction that trines Neptune strengthens emotional connections, uplifts us, and softens boundaries.

Saturday is a complex day packed with planetary activity, including an uplifting Grand Fire Trine (Sun in Leo, Moon and Uranus in Aries, and Saturn in Sagittarius). In contrast to this benefic Grand Trine, the Moon forms a tense T-square pattern with Pluto and Jupiter. This is an active day with promise for great accomplishments. Mercury turns retrograde for three weeks until September 5.

The exalted Moon in Taurus makes for a beautiful, grounded Sunday. The Sun makes a benefic trine to Saturn, giving energy for sound decisions and good progress on work. We can get a lot accomplished, though the Taurus Moon likes to plod along in an unhurried manner. Pamper yourself, and take time to smell the roses while you work on projects. Finish the weekend with a sumptuous, pleasing Sunday evening dinner with good conversation.
