Bluma Project Cala Bracelet 7″

A handcrafted bracelet made of brass, cotton cord and bright orange tassels

Description

Why We Love This

Like a harmonious little community, the Cala Bracelet combines unlikely elements that work together. We think the four tassels on either side of the brass make this a happy bracelet, a reminder of the artists’ work.

Story

Maybe these colors have an uplifting psychological effect. Or maybe the bracelet is just radiating the positive energy of the group of women in India who created it. Like a metaphor for their collaborative artisan’s circle, the cotton cord weaves brass beads and bohemian tassels together into something completely new. Striking with a stack of gold or beaded bracelets, or worn on its own, this piece from Bluma Project supports women in isolated areas by offering them the means to support their families with their creations.

About the Maker

Founded by designer Beth Shaeffer, Brooklyn-based Bluma Project features jewelry, textiles and accessories that are handcrafted in developing countries such as Peru, Guatemala, Philippines and India.
