Carnelian is an orange variety of chalcedony quartz. Because its color ranges from peachy orange to deep rust, it¥s named for the Latin word for flesh. A crystal that historically has been believed to encourage initiative and endurance, it ultimately attracts prosperity, resources and luck. Crystal healers believe it has the power to ground us in reality and therefore help with decision making by keeping us focused on the present. For speaking, it¥s said to help clarify the voice. They also say it calms anger and helps to maintain an awareness of unconditional love. Many practitioners use it with meditation because it is believed to allow for deeper concentration.
