Teardrop-shaped stoneware bell available in three sizes
Raw, light and textured, we love the rustic look of these teardrop-shaped clay bells. Handmade, and hung from hemp rope, the knocker is made from reclaimed wood. Perfect for being lured into meditation, or just to bring balance to a room.
Bells are said to pay homage to the present through sound. The artist paid attention to every detail while crafting this bell. The hemp on which it’s hung was organically grown and its ends hand-bound. The knocker is beveled reclaimed walnut. This wheel-thrown item was made from a raw clay base and high-fired in a reduction gas kiln. Find space outside for it to enhance the spiritual meaning of a spot, or hang inside a room or window to help balance and attention.
Michele Quan designs and sculpts handmade ceramic art and objects for the home and garden out of her studio in Brooklyn, New York. Religious symbols and Eastern iconography are articulated in Quan’s work as she finds their meaning and beauty a source of inspiration. Her ceramic pieces are crafted by hand, wheel thrown, or slip cast in stoneware and porcelain. Quan incorporates brass, hand-dyed cotton, felted wool, organically grown hemp rope and reclaimed wood into her art—each piece of which acts as a canvas for her love of drawing, painting, texture and color.
