Why We Love This

Warm yellow beads anchor this Community charity’s five-pack stack, which was inspired by A Place Called Home, but multiple colors create its vibrancy. Bead Relief wants every person who wears one of their charity bracelets to feel empowered as a vehicle for change in the world. Wear it proudly and feel the love shared with an important cause.

Story

Underserved youth in South Central Los Angeles have a home away from homeóa safe place to go after sóchool to do their homework, get a snack, hang out, and receive the guidance of caring adults. It’s called A Place Called Home. This safe haven was founded in the wake of the 1992 riots. Back then, just a dozen or so kids gathered in the basement of a church. Today, the organization has grown, estimated to help 1,000 families. Youth are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through arts, education and wellbeing. They’re inspired to make a meaningful mark on their communities and society. The design reflects the colors of the organizations logo, and like all Bead Relief bracelets, has a signature copper Bead Relief tag.
