Horn-shaped brass bell designed as a chime to catch the wind
Made by Japanese master metalworkers using traditional casting techniques that have been passed down for over 400 years, this brass wind bell sounds a clear ring when it catches the breeze. We love the bell’s relaxing chime, echoing the meditative calm of being in nature.
Since 3000 BC, wind chimes have charmed us with the way they harmonize with nature. In Japan, wind bells called furin were once hung in the eaves of pagodas to ward off birds and evil spirits alike. Made one at a time on a lathe, this wind bell has a clear ring and a hanging wind sail made from water-resistant Japanese paper. Available in gold (clear urethane coat), silver (silver plate), or pink gold (copper plate), the bell has a bright finish applied during the manufacturing process to fix the color, though it may fade slightly over time. The manufacturer recommends protecting the bell from rain and bringing it indoors during high winds.
