Description

Why We Love This

Blue and bluer like the water it works to protect, this International charity’s bracelet, or five-pack stack, is inspired by the work of Water.org. Bead Relief wants every person who wears one of their charity bracelets to feel empowered as a vehicle for change in the world. Wear it proudly and feel the love shared with an important cause.

Story

Water.org believes water is the way to break the cycle of poverty and to achieve global equality. Water is a basic and fundamental human need. Still, 750 million people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water. Billions more lack improved sanitation, limiting their ability to prosper or just get through a day of school. Simply put, water empowers. That’s what inspired organizers to first tackle this problem in 1990. In 2015, Water.org brings access to safe water and sanitation to more than three million people. It has pioneered safe solutions and given hope and health to women and children. More, it’s given them a chance at a future. Wearing this bracelet is part of the solution as well. Available as a single bracelet or five-pack stack.

About the Maker

Bead Relief founders John Gornik and Greg Elias set out to build a socially conscious company that would enrich the lives of others. After seeing the need for support for nonprofit organizations across Los Angeles—especially those that help less fortunate children—the friends turned their passion for problem solving into a company. Bead Relief started with a single beaded bracelet design. Today, thousands of unique bracelets and sets of bracelets are handmade for each nonprofit partner. Dozens of charities are now recipients of Bead Relief’s good work—25% of each bracelet sale is donated to the charity for which it was created.
