Crystals & Stones 4 Stones for the Full Moon Published on July 23, 2018 Article by Justine Amodeo for Bodhi Tree Full Moons can bring closure to intentions set during the New Moon. The Full Moon is also a time to release what no longer serves you. Creating sacred space in your home and using healing stones and crystals can be a powerful way to create a ritual for release. How To Perform a Full Moon Ritual Crystals are best purchased during a Full Moon. To tap into their power, you need to hold them to your heart and lower to your altar while stating your intention. Here’s how: First, burn palo santo or sage to cleanse your space. Next, write down on a piece of paper (be as specific as possible) what you would like to release or let go of. Finally, hold your crystal in your hand and read your intention aloud, then set down the crystal on top of the paper. The following crystals and stones are well suited for a Full Moon ritual: 4 Stones to Use in Your Full Moon Ritual 1. Clear Seed Crystal Known as a master stone, clear seed crystals are believed to be encoded, or “seeded,” with ancient wisdom that’s said to remind us that we are all individuals connected to each other. Because they are clear and thin with smooth sides, seed crystals are also called Life Path stones, believed to accompany us throughout our life’s journey. In this shape, the faces converge at the tip and concentrate their energy at the point. When a crystal is in a raw, natural state, some believe its power is purer and stronger. Practitioners say seed crystals helps to regain an internal sense of balance whenever we feel detached from the world. 2. Amethyst Amethyst, thought of as “the stone of spiritual protection,” is used to shield one’s energy field against negative influences, geopathic stress or psychic attacks. It comes in various shades of purple, from pale red to deep violet, and like clear quartz, resonates with the crown chakra and third eye by enhancing intuition and psychic ability. Amethyst is also known for its ability to strengthen the imagination, inspiring creativity and passion as it expands the higher mind. 3. Kunzite Tumbled Stone Believed to assist in connecting the heart to the mind, kunzite is a powerful stone for letting go of worry and fear. Part of the beauty of this stone is that its color shifts from clear to pink to violet when moved in different angles and light. Some say this is a sign of its pure energy. Crystal practitioners believe that kunzite helps to open the heart, allowing unconditional love to enter. Also considered a healing stone, it is used to help relieve heartache from loss or separation. Feminine in color, it is also called the “woman’s stone” in healing communities since it is believed to encourage the nurturing acts of motherhood and increase intuition. 4. Selenite One of the more powerful stones for spiritual work, selenite has the ability to cleanse and clear other crystals and negative energies, and is a rare crystal that does not need to be cleansed or recharged. Used for meditation, selenite crystals (and wands) can assist in opening the crown chakra, help to connect to your higher guides and angels, remove energy blockages in the body, and can even be used to clear and purify jewelry and environments. Please note that crystal practitioners use crystals for specific purposes. This information is not intended to diagnose or treat health conditions.
