Mars turns retrograde this week on Tuesday, and Mars is also out-of-bounds, meaning it’s beyond the Sun’s declination. When a planet stations, turning direction, its energy is amplified, and when it’s out-of-bounds, it is wild and excessive. Mars symbolizes action, movement and heat. Mars and the South Node (known as Ketu in Vedic astrology) are closely aligned this week, and through mid-October. Mars/South Node opposes Venus/North Node. This combination is fiery hot and prone to eruptions. We may encounter a lot of anger, so be careful not to provoke it. Fierce energy also can be used for good, to spark ideas and to confront things that need to be addressed. We draw closer to the season of eclipses occurring on July 13, July 27, and August 11. Use this strong energy to get lots of exercise and to make things happen, but watch your temper and stay cool.

Tuesday and Friday this coming week are days when the Moon is Void of Course (VoC) all day. When the Moon is void, it is not aspecting any planets. Moon VoC periods are not good for decisions, as we cannot make sound, clear ones. Meetings do not come together and purchases are usually not considered to be good ones at a later time. It is best to read, clean, garden and attend to routine, more inconsequential matters. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday harbor great productivity. The Full Moon on Wednesday combines with Saturn, the planet symbolizing work and responsibility, and then the Moon combines with powerful Pluto on Thursday and Friday. Line up your projects and intentions and make the most of these three industrious days.

The Week Begins with Optimism and Easy Energy

Sunday is easy, supported by benefic trine aspects to Mercury and Pluto. Water the plants in your home and garden. Read a compelling book. Take some space for yourself. It’s the Sabbath, a day of rest supported by the cosmos. Enjoy!

We are fired up with optimism on Monday and Tuesday through the light of a Sagittarius Moon. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet that symbolizes abundance and good fortune. Jupiter’s only down side is that it can be excessive in everything it touches. Venus makes an edgy square to Jupiter, drawing us down this path of overextension and exaggeration, but if kept in check, you can accomplish more than usual this day. Guard against too much self-indulgence. Put a bounce in your step and get some outdoor exercise. The Sagittarius Moon backdrop continues on Tuesday, but the Moon is VoC all day and evening until 12:52am Wednesday PDT. Mars is stationary retrograde conjunct the South Node. When a planet is stationary, its energy is amplified, so the next few days will be fiery hot, exaggerated as Mars conjuncts the South Node, and forms a tense T-square with Jupiter and Venus. So, stay cool and go easy, and use this tension for creative projects and improvement. Tuesday is not a day for meetings or activities calling for decisions. Instead, use the day for routine tasks, or take time off from work and go on a bike ride.

Wednesday’s Buck Moon Highlights Productivity through the Work Week

The Capricorn Moon, also known as the Buck Moon, is Full on Wednesday, and shines its light on work. Saturn is closely conjunct the Moon, and thus opposite the Sun, so its symbolism of productivity, responsibility and limitation color the day. Both Wednesday and Thursday are days of duty, with the Moon conjoining Pluto Thursday to Friday. Lean in and work hard. Prioritize your projects and tasks, and challenge yourself to the max. You can use the power of the planets to make big strides. A Moon-Uranus trine on Wednesday gives us intuition and inspiration.

Benefic lunar sextiles to Jupiter and Mars on Thursday add vision and insight to our work. Mercury enters playful Leo, sparking creativity and imagination. We have a third day on Friday with a strong work theme, though the Moon is VoC all day from 1:57am to 9:37pm PDT. Use this day to finish the projects and things you have been working on the past two days.

The Weekend is For Sharing with Friends

After three days of hard work, we can engage with friends, and relax somewhat on Saturday and Sunday. A Mercury-Uranus square lends itself to debate and edgy conversations. Saturday evening is framed for friendship, so make it a social evening. Explore something new on Sunday, and after the Moon goes VoC at 3:56pm PDT, relax and shake off the week. Look back at all you have accomplished during the past week, and ease into the holiday week ahead.

The Week in Short

Sunday: Easy day. Kick back and take some time and space for yourself.

Monday: Put a bounce in your step and reach for the stars.
