Astrology How to Use This Week’s Demanding Planetary Energy for Positive Change Published on May 6, 2018 Article by Cathy Coleman for Bodhi Tree Your Weekly Astrology Forecast for May 6–13, 2018 This week demands our full attention, and it demands that we apply ourselves with focus and hard work to get a lot accomplished. These energies are in the cardinal, action-oriented signs of Aries and Capricorn. Mercury and Uranus are conjunct, exact on Sunday, May 13. Mars and Pluto are still conjunct, though Mars continues to pull farther away from Pluto and march toward an exact square to Uranus, also on Sunday, May 13. While Mercury/Uranus is brilliant and innovative, it is also erratic and unpredictable. The combined Mars/Pluto/Uranus energy is extremely volatile. With Mercury in the mix, the ground is unstable, producing strong energies for earthquakes. Symbolically, we can shake up our lives and move ourselves out of deep ruts and into new pathways of change. What needs to be shaken up in your life? Ponder how you can use this potent, volatile energy for positive change this week. Go slowly and carefully yet be open to innovative ideas and take advantage of the strong energy to empower yourself. The Week Starts on a Light Note, But Tension is Brewing Sunday is a lighter, friendlier day. The Moon is in Aquarius. The Taurus Sun sextiles Neptune, an opportunity to bring more beauty into your life. How about making a trip to the garden store and purchasing some plants to bring more color into your yard? Look around and discover something new and connect with friends. Tension brews in the evening in advance of the Mercury-Pluto square just after midnight. Steer clear of the stormy weather and get to bed early. Monday is a day with mixed energy. The tension of an exact Mercury-Pluto square frames the day, if not the whole week. This aspect can be discerning and employed for attention to detail in the written or spoken word. The Aquarius Moon also makes tense squares to the Sun and Jupiter, perhaps leaving us feeling stretched too thin with all there is to do this week. A Venus-Neptune square softens the hard edges, though it may cloud our vision. The detachment of the Aquarius Moon holds the key to this dynamic day. A lot can be accomplished, pleasantly, with the buoyancy of Tuesday’s Sun-Jupiter opposition. Benefic lunar sextiles to Mercury and Uranus invite free thinking and innovative ideas. Take the time to meet with a friend who stimulates conversation and new ideas. Compassion and Forgiveness are Midweek Themes Inspiration, compassion and forgiveness are themes Wednesday and Thursday. Each month with the Moon’s orbit around the Sun of 29½ days, we are given an opportunity to focus on different aspects of our lives. Isn’t it wonderful that one of the 12 zodiac signs symbolizes compassion and forgiveness? This monthly journey through Pisces gives us the opportunity to cleanse ourselves emotionally of transgressions that need to be forgiven. Wednesday may be the easiest day this week. Being in the flow, we can get a lot accomplished. Wednesday’s lunar sextile to Saturn helps us ground the Pisces Moon’s visionary, ethereal energy into practical applications. Thursday is full of benefic lunar aspects to Neptune, Jupiter, Sun and Pluto. A lunar square to Venus is a bit edgy, but draws our attention to a relationship or issue that needs to be addressed. Pisces symbolizes art and beauty, and inspiring music and wonderful smells. See the beauty in the world around you, and breathe it in. Make it a beautiful, inspiring day. After a good, dream-filled sleep during the last few degrees of the Pisces Moon cycle, bounce out of bed Friday and greet the sunrise and the Aries Moon, beginning a new lunar cycle. This is a day to make things happen! The Sun makes a powerful, benefic trine to Pluto. Be bold and give this day the works. The evening holds an uncomfortable Moon-Saturn square. Cosmic energies do not foster an easy social evening. You might be better off to keep working, or go dancing and shake off your frustrations. Volatile Energy Overshadows the Weekend Saturday is day filled with tension. Mercury I and the Moon are in tense squares to Pluto. When the planetary weather is stormy and volatile, it is best to stay close to home and engage in challenging projects and hard work. This is not a weekend for taking risks, physical or otherwise. Stay calm and steady, and lean into a big, but safe project. A benefic Moon-Venus sextile in the evening provides some relief. Call it a day and enjoy a satisfying dinner, and some new and easy entertainment. Sunday, Mother’s Day, is another demanding day that sizzles with action and surprises. The Moon conjuncts Uranus midday, just as it changes signs into Taurus tropically. Mercury and Uranus are exactly conjunct—a brilliant, creative alignment that can result in innovations and new solutions. The Moon is darkening, just before the New Moon early Tuesday morning. At this time in the lunar cycle, we want to draw inward and finish open projects in preparation for a new cycle that begins early next week. The Week in Short Sunday: Chill with friends and bring some inspiration and beauty into your life. Monday: Mixed day filled with tension, and yet vision and inspiration. Detachment is key.
