A handmade porcelain tumbler with a leaf-patterned rim, available in two sizes
This handmade porcelain tumbler adds a touch of beauty to an everyday item. A patterned band of leaves encircles the rim, which reminds us of tea leaves. It’s perfect for coffee, tea or to hold toothbrushes or cosmetic tools. We also think it makes a pretty desk accessory to hold pens and pencils.
Objects made from porcelain are at once delicate and durable. Alix D. Reynis designs and molds her ceramic pieces in her Paris studio, and then has them produced in Limoges, France, a region famous for its superior porcelain production. The intricate leaf pattern defines her Empire series. Glazed with a glossy white finish, this tumbler is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe, making this a piece of fine china that can be used daily.
Alix D. Reynis formally trained as a sculptor and interior designer before teaching herself the specialized craft of ceramics. Working in porcelain, often called ìwhite gold,î she describes the material as ìnoble, pure and demanding.î Reynis designs and makes the casts for each piece in her Paris studio, and then has them produced as full collections in Limoges, an area of France that’s famous for its superior porcelain production.
