Mystic Huston Smith on the Commonalities of Religious Experience

SKU: Bodhi-Talks-Huston-Smith Category: Tags: , ,

Description

In 1992, Mark Keniston, who was at that time a co-editor of the Bodhi Tree Book Review, met with Huston Smith, PhD at his home in the Berkeley Hills to discuss his book The World’s Religions. Smith, a self-described mystic who has tried to understand the world of religion from within, is widely regarded as the most accessible contemporary authority on the history of religions. Here, Smith and Keniston begin their discussion by briefly touching on Christianity and Smith’s early years in China as the son of Methodist missionaries, and quickly move on to commonalities of human religious experience.
