Description

In 2002, philosopher, editor and author Jacob Needleman visited Bodhi Tree to discuss his book The American Soul: Rediscovering the Wisdom of the Founders. Needleman, a professor of philosophy at San Francisco State University and former director of the Center for the Study of New Religions at The Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, has written 15 books and was general editor of the Penguin Metaphysical Library, a highly acclaimed selection of 16 reprinted texts dealing with the contemporary search for spiritual ideas and practice. Here, he examines the role of government and urges us to inquire more deeply into our American origins and, through that, our soul.
