Stoneware eye ornament with tassel
We love the uniqueness of this hanging piece stoneware art and the bright marigold yellow pop of color of the whimsical tassel beneath the all-seeing eye. Hung from a hemp rope, it brings freshness and positive energy to a space.
Yellow is the color of enlightenment and energy, as well as clarity. The all-seeing eye of God, watching over mankind, has long been an iconic symbol and, like many other spiritual images, has inspired the maker of this garland and tassel combination. The eye is associated with truth, vigilance, moral conscience and acts as a window to the soul. This hanging work of art can change the mood of any space inside or outside.
Michele Quan designs and sculpts handmade ceramic art and objects for the home and garden out of her studio in Brooklyn, New York. Religious symbols and Eastern iconography are articulated in Quan’s work as she finds their meaning and beauty a source of inspiration. Her ceramic pieces are crafted by hand, wheel thrown, or slip cast in stoneware and porcelain. Quan incorporates brass, hand-dyed cotton, felted wool, organically grown hemp rope and reclaimed wood into her artóeach piece of which acts as a canvas for her love of drawing, painting, texture and color.
