Four-inch diameter hanging wall ornaments available in three designs
we’re captivated by the designs on these black and white hanging disksóthe eye, the crescent moon, and the moon phase. They look amazing hung together in the same space, inside or outside a home or office.
Hung from nine inches of leather, each of these pinched disks offer special meaning. The all-seeing eye of God, watching over mankind, has long been an iconic religious symbol associated with truth, vigilance, moral conscience and acts as a window to the soul. The crescent is one of the oldest symbols known to man. The moon and its phases influence life on earth and signify so many different aspects of it: rejuvenation, fertility, rebirth, and knowledge, to name a few. A beautiful piece of art inside or out, hang alone or together in a cluster.
Michele Quan designs and sculpts handmade ceramic art and objects for the home and garden out of her studio in Brooklyn, New York. Religious symbols and Eastern iconography are articulated in Quan’s work as she finds their meaning and beauty a source of inspiration. Her ceramic pieces are crafted by hand, wheel thrown, or slip cast in stoneware and porcelain. Quan incorporates brass, hand-dyed cotton, felted wool, organically grown hemp rope and reclaimed wood into her artóeach piece of which acts as a canvas for her love of drawing, painting, texture and color.
