Three round disks with a mirrored glaze, strung together to form a wall hanging
We love the mirror glaze on this set of hanging disks. Strung together with nylon twine and hung by organic hemp, this piece will inspire reflection for anyone who stays still long enough to admire it.
The maker of this wall art, Michele Quan, once said that when she looks at the sky it cuts straight to the bone. Her art, with designs like the ones found on these handmade set of gradual disks, conveys that feeling. These have been painted with mirror glaze so as to reflect the sky or the room or the person looking deeply into them for answers or inspiration. Anyone can tap into the energy and spirituality of the world around us by being drawn into this special piece of art.
Michele Quan designs and sculpts handmade ceramic art and objects for the home and garden out of her studio in Brooklyn, New York. Religious symbols and Eastern iconography are articulated in Quan’s work as she finds their meaning and beauty a source of inspiration. Her ceramic pieces are crafted by hand, wheel thrown, or slip cast in stoneware and porcelain. Quan incorporates brass, hand-dyed cotton, felted wool, organically grown hemp rope and reclaimed wood into her art—each piece of which acts as a canvas for her love of drawing, painting, texture and color.
