Stoneware moon with beads is hanging art, available in two sizes
This hanging white glazed crescent moon is ethereal and charming. We love the rawness of the beads that share the hemp rope with the moon, and the subtle bliss this delicate piece adds to a wall or window.
The crescent is the lit side of the moon illuminated by the light and power of the spectacular sun, one of the oldest symbols known to man. Like all of the pieces in the maker’s collection, this precious work references religious iconography, the foundation of all of her art. Connect with the heavens all day long with this tiny ornament in a home or sanctuary, inside or out.
Michele Quan designs and sculpts handmade ceramic art and objects for the home and garden out of her studio in Brooklyn, New York. Religious symbols and Eastern iconography are articulated in Quan’s work as she finds their meaning and beauty a source of inspiration. Her ceramic pieces are crafted by hand, wheel thrown, or slip cast in stoneware and porcelain. Quan incorporates brass, hand-dyed cotton, felted wool, organically grown hemp rope and reclaimed wood into her artóeach piece of which acts as a canvas for her love of drawing, painting, texture and color.
