Brass bottle opener made by the Japanese master metalworkers of Nousaku
In addition to serving its intended purpose, this brass bottle opener shines as an objet díart that can lie flat or sit on its side. We love the subtle luster of the piece’s mottled finish.
A century ago, artisans at Nousaku began hand-crafting Buddhist altar fittings in Takaoka, Japan, a region that’s been famous for its brass and metal work since the 1600s. Today, Nousaku makes a host of artisanal metal products, including these solid-brass bottle openers. Designed by Taku Shinomoto, this bottle opener can also serve as a paperweight or decorative accent on a bar or shelf.
