A handcrafted necklace from New Mexico made of deerskin, deer antler and crystal quartz
A band of braided leather joins crystal quartz and deer antler in a double-pointed pendant. Strung on deerskin cording and embellished with antique silver Ethiopian trade beads, each necklace is one-of-a-kind.
All of Sessann Orne’s designs embrace the styles and practices of indigenous cultures. Handmade in the New Mexican high desert, the Deer Moon Necklace is inspired by the harmony in nature. Crystal quartz and natural antler compliment each other in both design and ceremonial embellishment. Opaque animal horn is balanced with the white light associated with crystal quartz, believed by native cultures to connect us to our inner spirit. Made from organic materials, each necklace slightly varies in shape and color. The cord is adjustable and can be tied to the desired length. Available in four colors of leather: tobacco, white, bone and black.
In 2009, designer Sessann Orne, founder of Three Arrows Leather, left a 13-year career as a brand manager and trend forecaster in Los Angeles and followed her heart to the high desert of New Mexico, where she lives off the grid in an earthship home and crafts leather accessories and items for the home. All of her designs are inspired by an Angeleno rock-n-roll vibe blended with her love of indigenous cultures and the untamed, southwest landscape. Handcrafted from locally sourced materials, each piece is hand-cut and hand-stitched, so no two are exactly alike.
