your weekly astrological forecast for September 30 – October 6

Pluto stations direct this week, and Saturn and Pluto are in six degrees of separation, moving toward their first conjunction January 12th. When a planet is stationary, it is more powerful than usual, and that archetypal energy is strong. Archetypal Pluto symbolizes power, destruction, regeneration, and transformation, qualities which can be expressed for good or ill. Think of this week as especially powerful for good, and get your game on strong. There are beautiful, uplifting energies as a result of the lingering Jupiter-Neptune square. While it is separating, we can still be inspired. What part of yourself are you ready to shed in order to embrace your more powerful self? This is a week for strong work. Lean in.

start the week and end the month by taking stock of investments

This last day of September, the first day of the work week, is surprising. The Moon opposes Uranus in the signs that symbolize money: Scorpio and Taurus respectively. Monday will be an interesting day, and we will see how the markets finish the month, as well as the third quarter. Consider your finances and investments, and how you may want to change or adjust this area of your life. Take some solitude, as we want to draw inward and go deep when the Moon is in Scorpio.

On Tuesday the Moon makes benefic aspects to Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto. This is an excellent day to purge—to clean out old stuff, and to work toward living lighter and cleaner. Stay focused on completing some work projects.

Pluto turns direct, inviting us to implement big changes

Pluto stations on Wednesday, and through Thursday, before turning direct after a five-month retrograde spin. As noted above, the planet Pluto symbolizes power, regeneration, and transformation. When a planet is stationary, its energy is especially powerful. The Sabian symbol for its degree of 21 Capricorn is “A Relay Race.” This symbol represents working as a team. Resolving the great global issues of our time will require teamwork. The Moon in Scorpio magnifies the stationary Pluto energy. We dive deep into what is important to us, and how we want to change our lives. As Pluto moves direct we are ready to implement big changes that we have pondered for some time. The Moon bounces into sunny Sagittarius on Wednesday, and makes benefic sextiles to Mars and Chiron early in the day, and to the Sun late in the day.

Thursday is a bright and sunny and full of optimism as the Sagittarius Moon conjuncts Jupiter. Mercury enters Scorpio on Thursday where it will reside for over two months until December 9th, due to a Mercury retrograde from October 31-November 20. Mercury embarks into the murky, deep emotional waters of the underworld, to confront darkness, and to understand things better. Mars ingresses into Libra where it will reside until November 20, the end of the Mercury retrograde period, Mars in Libra is not its best place, as Mars is aggressive, and Libra wants harmony. We will need to be more careful about feelings of impatience and aggression in relationships. Yet, Mars is passionate, and more passion in relationships could be a good thing.

Close the week by channeling Mars’ action-oriented energy

Friday morning will have a slow and unfocused start. Then, at 10:43 PDT the Moon moves into Capricorn, and we begin to make up for any lost work time during the past week. The Moon makes an edgy square to Mars in cardinal, action-oriented signs. We feel the push to get moving. We may come upon a brilliant, practical idea on Friday evening, as the Moon trines Uranus. Work hard and gear up for a weekend of accomplishment.

Nose to the grindstone on Saturday! This somber, serious day calls us to work to get a lot accomplished. Hearts open and fill with compassion in the evening, so reward your accomplishments with an inspiring dinner, and get to bed early to catch some dreams.

Again, Sunday is another day this weekend that demands hard work and productivity. This was not a weekend for relaxation and leisure. A Mercury-Uranus conjunction brings brilliant ideas. The Moon goes void of course at 4:25 p.m. After this time, lighten up and ease into a transitional Sunday evening. Get ready for the week ahead, and make time for friends early in the coming week.
