Your Weekly Astrology Forecast December 30th, 2019 – January 5, 2020

This week is bookended by two eclipses: one on December 25th and the next on January 10th. With the Sun’s recent entry into Capricorn, winter is here. The seven planets in Capricorn (Mercury, Sun, Jupiter, Ceres, Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node) will keep us grounded, practical, and cautious, pointing us toward responsibilities, plans, and goals. Capricorn symbolizes structures, government, and rules; structural change is in process through the workings of the strong collective energy in Capricorn. Mars is still in Scorpio through January 3rd. giving drive, passion, and focus. Sun-Jupiter and Uranus remain in trine aspect in earth signs, positive, innovative energy for practical change. Saturn is closing in on Pluto, growing toward their first exact powerful conjunction on January 12th. The strong alignments at the New Year call us to take serious stock of our lives, and enable great potential for change and transformation.

a dreamy, romantic new year’s eve

The Moon drifts into Pisces on Monday morning, and makes benefic aspects to Mercury, Uranus, and Jupiter, showering us with positive, generative energy, and strong intuition. A Mercury-Uranus trine is the aspect of the day, sure to deliver brilliant, innovative ideas just in time for the New Year.

Tuesday, New Year’s Eve, the last day of the year, is a dreamy, romantic day colored by a Moon-Neptune conjunction. Be inspired! Watch your alcohol intake at the New Year’s Eve party, and have a designated driver or call a Lyft. Exercise mindfulness, as we are prone to drift toward unawareness. On the positive side, conversations will glow with sweetness and compassion.

a soft, easy new year’s day

New Year’s Day is a soft, easy day. The Moon continues in Pisces and there are few aspects. Allow yourself to imagine the year ahead that you want to create. Winds of change are blowing, as are between two eclipses and the Saturn-Pluto conjunction. Things pick up Wednesday evening when the Moon trines Mars and then bounces into Aries at 8:00 p.m. PST.

We are cautiously optimistic on Thursday in light of a Mercury-Jupiter conjunction. However, we may feel uncomfortable, irritable, and impatient due to the Moon’s edgy square to Mercury and Jupiter. One deliberate step at a time gets the job done.

adventure, accomplishment, and order to close the week

Mars moves into Sagittarius on Friday, bringing a drive for adventure. The Aries Moon makes a challenging square to Saturn and Pluto. With Sun and Moon in fire signs, we are enthusiastic and more open to risks. The optimism and buoyancy of planets in fire signs gives some levity to the weight of many planets in Capricorn. Employ this dynamic, challenging energy to get a lot accomplished.

When the Moon moves into Taurus Saturday morning it aligns well with the many planets in Capricorn, and enables us to get a lot accomplished. Put away holiday décor and get your house in order. We may be in for a surprise in our routine in the afternoon (Moon conjunct Uranus). The day ends on a high note as the Moon forms a benefic trine to Jupiter. Taurus loves sensual pleasures, so delight in some.

Sunday’s Taurus Moon and numerous aspects call us to create order before the first post-holiday week of the New Year. Plan and prepare for the week ahead. Cook some nourishing food and make extra for next week’s meals.

The Week in Short:

Monday: Brilliant, innovative ideas abound. Trust your intuition.
